New Church Home
We are bursting at the seams and feeling a new energy to be of service to our community.
Quiet conversations are turning from personal events and the weather to "what about a new church?
Don't you think its time for a new church home?" And so…
At our annual membership meeting held on February 18, 2007, we adopted a motion to create
a Home Fund (currently at $14,775) and proceed with plans to build a new church home.
At the March 4th Board meeting, a Church Home Team was created. When the new team met for
the first time on Team Night, we talked about our next steps in moving forward with plans for
a new church home. It was determined that our next effort should be a meeting with the Lee County
Planning and Zoning Committee. The committee met with representatives of the New Church Home Team,
and it was determined that there are no substantial obstacles to our vision for the future.
Pat Day, who is a Civil engineer, and currently the co-team leader of the Building and Grounds Team has
been asked to join the New Church Home Team, so he can lend his expertise to our next step which is to
create a plan for the use of our land. This plan will include not only our anticipated needs, but it
will also attempt to foresee the needs of the next generation of Unity of Fort Myers members.
These are exciting times. Please check this link of our website from time to time as our progress is
reported. And, of course, there will be additional meetings for more extensive explanations of our progress.
Let us rest in the quiet as we allow Spirit to reveal to us the wonder and power of the following statement
of truth:
With a mighty faith and a strong conviction that I live and move and have my being in God,
I co-create with the Master Mason a home whose foundation is truth, whose light is wisdom,
and whose warmth is love.
