The Yoga of Life

I am one with God, open and receptive to Divine Light, Love and Life.

Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning connection and union. The yoga of life is the practice of the principle of connection and union with the One, the All, the Everything in the here, now, this.

When we think of the word yoga, the practice of asana yoga, poses and stretches, comes to mind, but the true essence of yoga is the attitude and intention to life and living that we are all connected, all one, with the same divine and sacred source and substance of life. That we are all here for the common purpose: to experience and express our individual and collective potential for divine good.

The principle of yoga as a spiritual practice invites us into the connection, communication and collaboration of oneness. It invites us into a deeper more authentic union with our common divine source, a deeper more authentic union with ourselves and with each other. The spiritual principle and practice of the yoga of life liberates us into an awareness of abundance and frees us to see that there is infinite good, more than enough for all. To this common good, individually and collectively, the connection and union of oneness calls us, assuring us that together we can do more for all.

When we live outside the awareness of oneness we live with a sense of separation, without union and connection to each other, the One, the All, the Everything. In the wilderness of the sense of separation we see scarcity everywhere, all the time. No longer are we able to connect and collaborate for the infinite potential of a common best and higher good, but in fear we compete with each other for our share of a scarce and limited good.

Jesus taught the spiritual truth of the oneness achieved by the awareness, attitude and practice of love: “You will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you … who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.” John 14:20-21

It is love that effects our awareness of oneness, enables our authentic connection and union with our divine and sacred source and each other. It is the principle and practice of love that brings us into the greater integrity of oneness and empowers in each of us the authentic will to a gracious and generous collaboration to a mutual good. It is love that binds us in the union and harmony of oneness to each other and the Light, Love and Life of the One, the All, the Everything.

I am one with God, open and receptive to Divine Light, Love and Life.

Until next week, the bountiful blessing of Divine good to you.
